We're at 100
The recipe library is at 100 today.
When I started this site I had nine recipes. Then forty. Now a hundred. It's a number I picked early on because it felt like an obvious finish line, and now that I'm here I'm a little misty about it.
What's in there:
- 22 Loaves — country, white, milk, beer, every shape and shade
- 14 Whole Grain — rye, spelt, einkorn, the meaty kind of bread
- 11 Flavored — olive, walnut-cranberry, gruyère, the show-off bakes
- 9 Flatbreads — focaccia (my heart), pita, naan
- 12 Discard — pancakes, crackers, brownies, ways to never throw away starter
- 8 Sweet — cinnamon raisin, panettone, brioche
- 11 Seeded — every combination, the math worked out
- 7 Specialty — bagels, ciabatta, sourdough croissants
- 6 Seasonal — pumpkin, persimmon, cranberry-orange, the calendar bakes
Every one of these is something I've baked. Most of them dozens of times. A few of them hundreds.
I'm going to slow down on adding new ones now. The next phase is making the ones we have better — more photos, clearer methods, more notes from real bakes.
