How does the 7-day free trial work?
When you first install the app, every feature is available for 7 days at no cost. After that, a one-time $9.99 unlock keeps the app working forever. There are no subscriptions, no auto-renewals.
I bought the unlock but it's not showing on my new device.
Open the app → Settings → Restore purchase. The unlock is tied to the Apple ID you bought it with — make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on both devices.
Does the unlock work with Family Sharing?
Yes. The Lifetime Unlock is a non-consumable IAP with Family Sharing enabled, so anyone in your Family Sharing group can use the app on their own devices.
Will my data sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Only if you turn on iCloud Backup in Settings → iCloud Backup. Sync uses Apple's CloudKit, runs entirely between your devices and Apple, and is encrypted end-to-end. We never see your data.
I lost my data after reinstalling. Can you help?
If you had iCloud Backup enabled before, reinstalling the app on the same Apple ID will re-pull your starters, bakes, and recipes from your private iCloud database automatically. Give it a minute after first launch. If you didn't have iCloud Backup on, the data was local-only and we are not able to recover it. This is a tradeoff of the app's privacy-first design — we don't have servers and don't store your data, which means there's nothing to restore from.
How do I share a recipe with a friend?
Open the recipe → tap the ⋯ menu → Share recipe… The app exports a .sourdoughrecipe file you can send via AirDrop, iMessage, email, or save to Files. Your friend opens the file in their copy of the app.
How do I import a recipe a friend sent me?
Open the Recipes tab → tap + → Import from file. Pick the .sourdoughrecipe file from Files or iCloud Drive.
How do I refund my purchase?
Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don't process refunds independently of Apple.
