Build a recipe from what's in your pantry

There's a new tool on the recipes page I want to tell you about.

You pick ingredients you have — whole wheat, walnuts, olives, whatever — and it builds you a working sourdough recipe. Not by hallucinating ratios but by slotting your inputs into an archetype (country loaf, focaccia, discard bake, enriched loaf) and filling in the rest with real, tested numbers.

I built this because the question I get most is some version of "I have X and Y, can I make a sourdough?" The answer is almost always yes, but the version of yes that works is specific. 100g of walnuts, not 200g. Toast first. Reduce hydration 3%.

There's no AI in it. Just rules I've written down from years of doing this. The output is a recipe you can read, scale, and actually bake.

It's free. It's at /recipes, in the "Build from Your Ingredients" tab.

Tell me what breaks. Especially the weird inputs — I want to know what surprises it.
